Summary:
Manager of the Accounting and Finance department and Plant Controller functioning as the financial lead for the plantThis position is responsible for the daily activity of the department ensuring control around the financial accounts in preparation for each monthly closingThe Manager leads the closing process, budget creation, forecasting, cost reduction reporting, and financial reporting for the plantFinally, the Manager will generally have a staff comprised of at least two specialist and / or analysts depending on business needsIIEssential Job Functions:
AManages the month-end closing to ensure financial statements are accurately stated in coordination with company policy and GAAP.
BVerifies any ERP modules and system sub-modules are interfacing correctly to the general ledger.
CTracks all closing journal entries to ensure proper posting and reversal when neededDLeads review of the trial balance and account reconciliations to assure accounts represent real financial positions.
ELeads reporting financial results to the Plant Management team and Corporate Head Office.
FUtilizes Hyperion Financial Management software to consolidate reporting data.
GCoordinates collection of KPI and statistical data with other departments in the plant.
HLeads cost improvement reporting in coordination with the other department leaders.
IPrepares monthly budgets and distributes the results each month to department leaders.
JHas a general understanding of the key drivers behind the financial plan and monthly forecasts.
KLeads the annual planning and forecast initiatives.
LPrepares and reviews documentation for audits with the Internal Controls team and external auditors.
MValidates the perpetual inventory is reflective of all inventory transactions (i.
eshipping, receiving, transfers and scrap).
NEnsures bill of materials and standard costs are accurate and relevant to business conditions (i.
eannual cost roll, new products and engineering changes).
OSupports physical inventory events in coordination with the Plant Production Control team.
PEnsures assets are tracked properly from tagging in-service purchases to dispositionQMonitors capital spending meets the plants capital budget.
RProvides approval for plant purchases when authority is required.
SSupports plant senior management with ad-hoc requests.
IIIMinimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Other professional certifications preferred
Experience:
Greater than eight (8) years of relevant experience requiredManufacturing/Automotive setting experience preferred.
Greater than four (4) years of leadership experience as a supervisor in a professional environment required.
Personal/Technical Skills:
General understanding and working knowledge of basic accounting principles.
Proven business knowledge in corporate manufacturing Effective leadership and people skills while working in a diverse environment.
Active listener with effective communication skills.
Ability to lead projects with quick deadlines and short lead times.
Decision making using a standard problem resolution format.
Strong attention to detail.
Organization (5S) and planning skills.
Demonstrated ability to present at multiple levels within an organization.
Basic math skills and analysis capability.

Language Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Japanese, Spanish, and/or Portuguese would be helpful, but are not required.
Computer/Software:
System experience (Oracle, Hyperion, Kronos, and various ERP systems preferred).
Requires high level of proficiency in MS Excel Solid working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.
g.
, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
).

Office:
Open Office Environment, moderate noise level.
Plant:
Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise levelPPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, etcmay be required in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areasPersonal attire standards may apply.
Travel:
Must be willing to travel 0-10% of the time.
VPhysical Demands:
